PMT is capable of performing low voltage testing on chillers, air handling units, and other assembled equipment. PMT’s test lab is complete with a 480 VAC variable transformer that can be incrementally adjusted from 237 to 623 VAC (amperage dependent). PMT can design a test program for your equipment to simulate the line voltage sags your equipment may experience during normal operation, or during startup on your diesel generator in the event of a loss of power. Example test scenarios that can be implemented are as follows:
Scenario #1
- Run equipment at steady state at 480 VAC supply voltage and simulate a loss of power
- Restart equipment 30 seconds later with reduced supply voltage of 360 VAC
- Run equipment at 360 VAC for minimum of 30 seconds, increase voltage back to 480 VAC
Scenario #2
- Run equipment at steady state at 480 VAC supply voltage
- Simulate a voltage sag by dropping the supply voltage to 360 VAC
- Hold the supply voltage at 360 VAC for minimum 30 seconds
- Increase supply voltage back to 480 VAC
